Abstract
In this paper, two fractal designs namely, Sierpinski Gasket and Koch fractal geometry have been combined and implemented on Tetrahedron shaped Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) to achieve wide bandwidth (BW). The antenna has been designed for 10 GHz resonating frequency. To minimize the cross-polarized radiation, stacking of DRA along with novel feeding technique has been proposed. The Unstacked DRA was fabricated, tested and the measured results are found in close agreement with the simulated results. Wide impedance bandwidth (-10dB reference) of 72.185% in case of Unstacked DRA while about 70.138% in case of Stacked DRA and an average gain of 7.5 dBi has been achieved.
