Abstract :
In this work, a structure of a compact ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna implementing an upper WLAN band-notch, as well as its expedited design optimization procedure, are described. The band-notch is realized using meander-shaped slots in the radiation patch. For the sake of computational efficiency, the design procedure exploits variable-fidelity electromagnetic (EM) simulations as well as adjustment of the slot parameters by means of sequential approximate optimization.
