Abstract
SCMR is a promising technology for remote sensing applications that require increased levels of power. This paper aims to develop the vital communication link between the sensor and reader in a similar way to passive RFID tags. A backscattering modulator and demodulator were designed and implemented using an SCMR system. Measured results indicate that using backscattering modulation is effective. This technology negates the need for other methods of communication, which may consume more power than desired.
