Abstract :
An interface-enriched generalized finite-element method (IGFEM) is proposed for efficient electromagnetic analysis of composite materials with complex internal structures. By enriching the solution space at material interfaces, the IGFEM, even without discretizations conforming to the geometries, achieves the same level of solution accuracy as the standard finite-element method (FEM) based on conformal meshes. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate its accuracy, h-refinement convergence rate, conditioning, and capability to simulate highly inhomogeneous materials.
