Abstract :
A practical high-performance waveguide slot array antenna with 820 radiating slots in millimeter wave is presented. A novel compact architecture is developed to reduce the mechanical layers of the array, hence decrease by 38% in height as compared to conventional method. The performance requirements are satisfied with the optimum architecture, Taylor distribution and improved Elliott´s design technique. Both the simulated and measured results indicate an about 3.5% bandwidth(VSWR<;2), with 65.3%-high efficiency and 22 dB low-level sidelobe at center frequency.
