Abstract :
A single channel stepped-frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar has the drawback of long data acquisition time which may discourage its use; hence we propose a multi-channel SFCW ultra wideband radar which simultaneously transmits four frequencies so the data acquisition time can be significantly reduced. Additionally, by using a compressive sensing (CS) based signal reconstruction method, we can obtain a high resolution range profile (HRRP) of the target with only a few frequencies, which will further increase the acquisition speed. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the applicability of the proposed system and its great potential in speeding up data acquisition process.
