Abstract
This paper introduces a high order defected ground filter. The proposed filter has been applied for mutual coupling reduction of two element integrated transmit-receive antennas operating at 5.8 GHz. The proposed filter consists of six order rectangular defected ground structure to be inserted between the transmitter and receiver antennas with a separation distance of only 10 mm (0.2λ0). The proposed high order filter has reduced the mutual coupling by better than 20 dB compared to the case of non-using the filters. The theoretical principles and full wave simulations are introduced. Finally the experimental measurements have validated these results. Good agreements between the results are achieved.
