Abstract :
A novel three-dimensional (3-D) folded slot antenna is presented in this paper. By bending the planar slot antenna into a U-shaped slot antenna, quasi-isotropic radiation pattern is achieved in the full space. The volume of the proposed antenna is 11×22×22 mm3. Comparison between the planar and the folded antennas is discussed in detail. Simulated results show that the -10 dB impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 27 MHz. The gain variation, namely the difference of peak gain and minimal gain across the whole space, is less than 3 dB.
