Abstract :
Coating with various radar absorbing materials (RAM) is an important technique in radar cross section (RCS) reduction of targets. In this paper, we develop an effective RCS calculation technique for composite coated targets. The targets are modeled as a combination of facets. Physical Optics (PO) method and Impedance Boundary Condition (IBC) are used for RCS calculation of coated facets. During the RCS calculation, matrices of reflecting coefficient are pre-calculated and stored. This greatly improves the speed of scattering calculation. Typical computational results are presented and compared with those in references, demonstrating the validity of the current technique.
