Abstract
We provide experimental results for locating emitters from a moving platform using the Direct Mapping Method (DMM). In DMM, one searches for emitters by forming a cost function of location instead of a cost function of angle. The cost function may incorporate multiple observations taken when the platform is in different orientations relative to the emitters. We find that DMM provides good results when the test vectors for the cost function have significant mismatch with the actual pattern of the receive antenna array. We find DMM particularly advantageous when there are multiple emitters present in the scene.
