Abstract :
Characteristic Mode (CM) Analysis of a dipole antenna loaded with DNG material is presented. The eigenvalues and eigencurrents are calculated as function of DNG material parameter variations. It is observed that by properly adjusting the DNG material loading the CM resonances of a dipole antenna can be shifted lower in frequency allowing antenna size reduction.
