Abstract :
This work proposes a planar LTE/WWAN monopole antenna fed by a T-shaped strip to obtain eight-band operation for 4G tablet computers. The impedance bandwidths across dual operating bands approach 298 / 1153 MHz at the LTE / WWAN bands, respectively. The proposed planar monopole antenna has the antenna size of only 35 × 10 × 0.8 mm3. The measured peak gains and antenna efficiencies are approximately 2.2 / 4.2 dBi and 60 / 80 % for the LTE/WWAN bands, respectively.
