Abstract :
In this paper, a new three-dimensional active frequency selective surface unit-cell is presented. The unit-cell is distinguished by its wide bandwidth for both the reflective and transparent states. The active frequency selective surface is switched by a PIN diode located at the center of the unit-cell. The frequency of operation is in the range of 4.053 - 6.926 GHz. The unit-cell achieves a bandwidth of 2.873 GHz with more than 90% power reflected in the reflective state and more than 83% power transmitted in the transparent state.
