  • Abstract
We investigated transient temperature rise generated by a helix titanium alloy implant immerged into an ASTM phantom located inside 1.5T MRI RF whole body coil and 3D EM simulation simplification consequences. The location of the thermal hot spot and temperature rise were found to be dependent on implant electrical conductivity. In realistic simulation temperature rise at implant tip was noticeable less than maximum temperature rise around helix wire. After 15 minutes heating temperature rise in surrounding liquid was practically identical along entire implant structure.
