Abstract
One of the most important requirements for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope is to obtain the highest sensitivity along the operation band. The medium frequency instrument (SKA-AAMid) will operate from around 300 to 1450 MHz. To get a stable sensitivity throughout the band, the directivity of the element must not suffer from large ripples in its response. In this paper a description of an optimization of the directivity for a smaller version of Log-periodic dipole antenna previously published is presented. The improvement is demonstrated by simulated results.
