Abstract
A wideband ±45° dual polarized base station antenna is proposed. The design includes a novel differential L-probe feeding radiation element and novel slotted sidewalls. The center of the antenna is hollowed for embedding additional antenna operating at other frequency. The antenna operates from 1.7 to 2.6 GHz (VSWR<;2) with port isolation more than 30dB. Further improvement in the radiation characteristic is achieved through the introduction of sidewalls. Stable radiation patterns with 3dB beamwidth 67 ± 8° at horizontal plane and an average antenna gain of 8.4 dBi are found.
