Abstract :
A novel design of a steerable millimetre wave antenna is proposed. The antenna is designed based on the Bull´s eye structure which comprises of three rectangular slits surrounded by periodic corrugated structure that enhances the antenna gain dramatically. This paper shows the ability of Spoof Surface Plasmons (SSPs) to manipulate the propagation of electromagnetic waves on the Bull´s eye antenna surface to generate highly directive beam and to steer that beam by creating unsymmetrical corrugated structure. The proposed antenna has dimensions of 32mm × 32mm and it resonates at 65 GHz with a bandwidth of 1.1 GHz and a gain of 14.1 dB at resonance frequency.
