Abstract
Efficient substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) to co-planar waveguide (CPW) transition junction implemented in a multi-layer structure is presented for phased array millimeter-wave applications. The coupling between the two different lines takes place via an aperture (slot) cut on the SIW top ground plane. The transition is simulated by the full-wave solver over the frequency band 29-30 GHz. It shows an insertion loss of -4.60 dB over a narrow bandwidth of ~ 600 MHz centered at 29.50 GHz.
