Abstract :
In tropo communication, the received signal suffers from slow varying multipath fading characterized by Rayleigh distribution, Doppler shift and delay spread. In this paper a tropo channel is simulated using Tapped Delay Line (TDL) structure with varying tap-gains. A case study has been presented, for a typical troposcatter link, to appreciate the losses and delay spread experienced. The effect of tropo channel on transmitted DQPSK signal is analysed in terms of BER performance. The effect of different parameters like delay spread, path gain and Doppler shift have been simulated in terms of BER.
