  • Abstract
This paper represents existence of two buck chopper circuits in a single phase switch controlled full wave rectifier. A single phase full bridge rectifier provides a fixed dc output voltage. If two diodes out of four diodes are replaced by two switches, then output voltage can be reduced controlling the duty cycle of switching pulses. This action proves the action of buck chopper circuit which is used for dc to dc step down conversion process. There is an LC filter at the output terminal which reduces the ripple in voltage and current. The output DC voltage can be reduced by controlling the duty cycle of the switching pulses. The output is observed from the simulation by PSIM. The main purpose of this work is to show the existence of two buck chopper circuits in a modified single phase full wave bridge rectifier.
