Abstract :
Our paper presents a new approach to improve human computer interaction. It introduces a new way to control mouse cursor with our bare hand with the help of webcam and computer vision. It eliminates the conventional controlling system to control mouse cursor for a non-interactive display screen. With considering practical environment it is a great challenge to change any display screen to be interactive without changing hardware construction. The presence of a good number of real time retardation limits scope for this work since beginning. The primary obstacle arises regarding the capturing the image by webcam for self-illumination of screen. Considering these obstacles a method is proposed to control mouse cursor in real time scenario. To do this, fingertip is detected by developing finger shape descriptor algorithm. This method is applied on different pc screen environment and approximate real time processing is achieved. The implementation of this system reveals a new opportunity of innovation and makes our life more interesting.
