Abstract :
Minimizing equivalent series inductance (ESL) seen by inverter switches is critical to limit voltage overshoot at turn-off. The DC link capacitor and bus structure are traditionally viewed as dominant contributions to the ESL. Results are presented to demonstrate that the IGBT module connections actually have a significant effect on ESL.
