Abstract
Photovoltaic module connection/disconnection, cell mismatching or partial cell shading are problems that can occur in DC microgrids with several photovoltaic modules. The bus voltage regulation can be compromised when the microgrid does not contain storage elements and are affected by a trouble in energy sources; therefore, appropriate control strategies are required. This paper presents a new multi-model control strategy for DC bus voltage regulation in a microgrid that avoids the afore mentioned problems. The feasibility of the approach was verified in a 200 W experimental prototype. The proposed solution has also advantages such as: flexibility and modularity to expand the system, connecting more photovoltaic modules or PV arrangements.
