Abstract :
This paper proposes a 5-level three-phase hybrid multilevel inverter topology with improved capacitor voltage balance and reduced capacitor rating. In order to validate the proposed structure, simulation and experimental results are presented. In addition, the proposed topology is compared with an existing counterpart structure in terms of capacitor voltage oscillation, capacitance size, losses, number of devices and value of power supply.
