  • Abstract
Data transmission over power line networks is a challenging telecommunication problem whose interest has grown up in recent years. Within different technologies, Wavelet OFDM has been recommended as medium access technique for broadband power line communications (PLCs). In IEEE 1901, the wavelet OFDM physical layer (PHY) defines a transmitter based on cosine-modulated filter bank (CMFB), for which due to the power line channel features, a receiver with an efficient equalizer is needed. In this work, we obtain the value of the coefficients of an equalizer integrated in an Adaptive Sine-Modulated/Cosine-Modulated Filter Bank Equalizer for Transmultiplexers (ASCET), which could be used to compensate for the power line channel effects. Our proposal focuses on the two-order system, analyzing the frequency points to be sampled and deriving the theoretical expression to obtain its coefficients. With the aim of evaluating the performance of this equalizer, a comparison between 2-ASCET and lower-order ASCET, (0-ASCET and 1-ASCET) is carried out considering in-home and in-vehicle scenarios. This study is completed with several computer simulations.
