Development of a modular inertial sensor package and its application for improvement of handheld grenade launcher

This article describes the practical approach to develop a modular sensor package for navigational use as well as for heading stabilization based on commercially off the shelf (COTS) available sensors. It could be shown, that the combination of the individual advantages of several sensors, leads to a device that complies with the requirements of a more demanding application. An example for a potential application is presented in the second part of the article.
