Abstract
This paper presents a robust power restoration mechanism that can operate in typical distribution systems without the need of supervision from a central point or intervention from the operator. The restoration is carried out in a multi-agent environment that facilitates coordination between the agents. The cornerstone of this proposed approach is a novel communication protocol that enables self-organization of agents in post-fault state. The approach maximizes the amount of restored power while preserving the radial structure of the distribution system. Simulation study based using Java Agent Development Environment framework (JADE) is presented to show the validity of the proposed approach.
