Abstract :
When faults occur on the circuit to which the distributed generation (DG) is connected, the circuit breaker of power distribution system trips the faulted circuit, and forms DG islanding. This paper examines the performance of anti-islanding protection based on asymmetric tripping of feeder circuit breaker under fault scenarios. Considering that the protection relay equipped by DG such as overcurrent protection is responsible for the fault to trip the DG, an effectively grounded medium-voltage distribution network with synchronous DG interconnection is employed to test the performance of anti-islanding protection with overcurrent protection. Simulation results show that under fault scenarios, the anti-islanding protection does not mal-operate and the overcurrent protection will trip the fault correctly.
