Smart Meter Test Stand for requirement analysis of advanced smart meter applications

Smart meter systems can provide advanced functionalities for network state observation, estimation and control. For analysis of system requirements and evaluation of such functionalities a test stand has been realized. This paper describes the structure and implementation of the test stand infrastructure as well as the results of test cases which have been conducted to evaluate smart meter system performance and applicability at different measurement access layers, at the smart meter, the data concentrator, secondary substation and control centre.
