Abstract :
The resolution performances of remote sensing satellites are increasing, while allowed band frequencies for data transmission are fixed as a design recommendation. The satellite-to-ground station link became the bottleneck and there is an increased demand to overcome that limit. Also it is important to take into account the propagation conditions and onboard hardware limitations. This paper presents a new modulation scheme for a high-speed communication system with a high spectral efficiency (up to 11.4375 bit/s/Hz) with signal-to-noise ratio´s distance to Shannon´s boundary <;1.1 dB and simple modulation/demodulation principles.
