Abstract
The article analyses the Engineering profession and education in Brazil by comparing international and Brazilian contexts. It also demonstrates the perception of industrial leaders according to which there is a shortage of Engineers in the market, and the fact that the next generation of Brazilian Engineers should hold new skills. It is a short version of a long report presented by the Brazilian Industry Confederation (CNI) and basic document for discussions at the International Seminar “Strengthening the Field of Engineering in Brazil”, held in November 2014, where specialists from university, industry and government came together to debate means to transform Engineering education in Brazil.
