Abstract
A new and simple DC link voltage boosting circuit is proposed to enhance the performance of three phase switched reluctance motor. The proposed circuit consists of one boost capacitor and one diode which are incorporated to front end of the asymmetric bridge converter. This boost circuit generates high voltage during magnetization and demagnetization period. And hence the current rise and fall time get reduced. The proposed boost circuit reduces the negative torque pulses and increases the mean torque as well as the motor output power. The proposed converter is simulated with different load condition by MATLAB/SIMULINK. Simulation results revealed that the improved torque response and power output.
