Abstract :
Defected ground plane of a periodic structure is presented in this paper to increase the gain and decrease the return losses. The return losses after introducing the defective ground structure decreases about 16 dB and gain also increases about 0.76 dB. The bandwidth of the antenna is slightly decreases but that wide bandwidth is sufficient for our application. The proposed antenna was simulated using ansoft HFSS software. The antenna is design at FR4 epoxy substrate fed by an edge feeding technique. The detail of the proposed antenna and the simulated result are presented.
