  • Abstract
    Cooperative communication is considered as the efficient method in 3GPP LTE-Advanced in terms of coverage prolongation and transmission efficiency. The multiple distributed nodes each by means of its own local oscillator, contributes rise to multiple carrier frequency offset (MCFOs). Joint parameter estimation of MCFOs and Unknown channel gains in the literature addressed the issue over flat fading cooperative systems. As the realistic channel environment is frequency selective, this work considered OFDM as per LTE-Advanced standard. The synchronization issues become more critical for cooperative communication systems with OFDM. In this work Least Square (LS) approach with necessary modification for joint estimation of these impairments in cooperative communication based on LTE-advanced parameters over frequency selective channel. The MSE performance of MCFOs and channels are shown through exhaustive simulations. Performance of cooperative system is also evaluated by compensating for MCFOs and channels impairments.
