Abstract :
A 2×1 compact 4-shaped multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is designed by using DGS and parasitic element. A defected ground plane structure (DGS) etched into the ground plane so that mutual coupling effect between two antennas is reduced. F-shaped parasitic elements add at corner to increase isolation rate. It covers two frequency bands, lower frequency band is 2440MHz-2560MHz and higher band covered frequency ranges from 5120MHz-5260MHz. The antenna has isolation of about -14.84dB at lower band and -20.9 at higher band. The measured peak gains of two antennas are 1.4dBi and 2.8dBi at 2.5GHz and 5.2 GHz. The proposed MIMO antenna system has a bandwidth which covers the 2.4G-WLAN applications.
