Abstract
This work proposes metasurface antenna for switchable polarization. The Metasurface antenna contains source antenna and a Metasurface. The Metasurface consists of 16 unit cells arranged in a 4×4 layout. The corner truncated sievenpiper unit cells used as Metasurface. The elliptical slot antenna is a source antenna used for analysis. The antenna reconfigures to LP, LHCP and RHCP on the rotation of the Metasurface around the center regarding slot antenna. The Metasurface antenna designed to operate at 3.5GHz using HFSS. The antenna performance presented in terms of impedance bandwidth, axial ratio bandwidth, and polarization and radiation pattern. The result reveals that the antenna in circular polarization achieves an ARBWof 3.18 to 3.74GHz with the fractional bandwidth of 16% and polarization isolation of more than 15dB.
