Abstract
ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) is an error control protocol. Packet combining (PC) scheme is an extended ARQ, and Aggressive Packet Combining (APC) scheme is another error correction scheme. In PC & APC scheme two & three copies of the packet are send in all channel condition respectively. The wireless channel for packet transmission is not only random but time varying. In this paper we investigate the exact analysis of Packet combining scheme and Aggressive Packet combining scheme. We proposed a combined protocol of PC and APC for time varying channel and find that it will offer higher throughput and lower mean energy consumption at high BER (bit error rate) with medium and large packet size.
