Abstract
This paper comprises an overview of different aspects for wire tension control devices and algorithms according to the state of industrial use and state of research. Based on a typical winding task of an orthocyclic winding scheme, possible new principles for an alternative piezo-electric actuator and an electromechanical tension control will be derived and presented.
