Abstract :
Graphene is a monolayer of carbon atoms which exhibits attractive electromagnetic properties amenable to millemeter wave and terahertz applications. Graphene-loaded CPW interdigital capacitors with reconfigurable responses will be studied in this paper. The graphene film is used as an overlay of the conventional metal interdigital capacitor for broadband impedance matching. The proposed capacitors will be able to provide reconfigurable performance by exploiting the tuning property of graphene film. The effect of varying the surface impedance of the graphene film is parametrically examined to ultra broadband impedance bandwidth. The capacitor values can be tuned, the losses are minimized by confining the graphene film to a small area outside the interdigital capacitor. The tuning capability is one of the important features of graphene based capacitors.
