Abstract
This paper proposes a method for the coordinated control of reactive power by a multi-agent approach. The proposed multi-agent system consists of two types of agents: a single feeder agent (F_AG), and several bus agents (B_AGs). In the proposed system, F_AG plays the important role of deciding the power factors of all distributed generators by repeatedly executing the load flow calculations. The voltage control strategies of the system are implemented as the class definition in Java. To verify the performance, the proposed method was applied to a model system. The simulation results showed that the system is able to control very violent fluctuation of demand and photovoltaics (PVs).
