  • Abstract
Acoustic trapping is a powerful manipulation technique widely used in the biological and material sciences. However, selective and tunable manipulation of microparticles is still a challenge. Here, we report a spatial selective trapping of microparticles using a quasi-periodic phononic crystal plate (QP-PCP). By employing three groups of different periodical arrays of gratings on a brass plate consisting a QP-PCP, the spatial and frequency dependent resonant localized field occur. Then particles on the surface of the QP-PCP can be subjected to the spatial selective highly localized acoustic radiation force. This system may have potential applications in spatial selective manipulation of microparticles.
