  • Abstract
This paper represents a new topology for parallel compensator in order to improve the load unbalance in a three- Phase four-wire system. In discussing the improvement of load unbalancing, unlike the supplying current load harmonics and reducing mains current harmonic, it´s necessary to Inject significant amounts of real power by parallel compensator. While during the severe unbalancing in mains current the DC link capacitor could not be able to provide the amount of needed active power. Therefore Conventional topologies of parallel compensator despite of abilities and advantages, in the tens unbalance conditions in mains, is not performing acceptable performance. To resolve this problem and supplying the required real power and ensure the stability of DC link voltage compensator during the extreme unbalancing, this paper suggests a new topology for parallel compensator which called integrated parallel compensator. The proposed topology apart from its routine task of parallel compensator includes power factor correction, provide compensation of reactive power and current harmonics attenuation, enable the parallel compensator to compensate a significant number of unbalance current as well as providing a suitable DC link voltage stability in unbalancing situation and sudden changing in load. Several simulations that have been done in different conditions of distortion and unbalancing in mains voltage and load current by the MATLAB / SIMULINK software confirm the proposed topology.
