Abstract :
In this work we are presenting the results of our study of acetone (CH3COCH3) spectrum. This molecule is ubiquitous in the interstellar medium of our galaxy. We have recorded the spectrum of CH3COCH3 in the frequency range from 34 to 930 GHz. The experimental data were obtained using the spectrometers of the Institute of Radio Astronomy of NASU (34–150 GHz) and of the Laboratory of Physics of Lasers, Atoms and Molecules of the Lille University 1, France (150–930 GHz). At the current stage of our investigation the rotational transitions belonging to the ground, first and second excited torsional states of acetone were analyzed up to 650 GHz. At the moment the experimental dataset includes more than 10 000 newly measured frequencies of spectral lines. The current weighted root-mean-square deviation of the fit is 0.79, i.e. our theoretical model describes the available data within the experimental error.
