Abstract :
With many companies increasingly improving productivity efficiency, this introduces a necessity to eliminate operational errors by operators. One critical error is incorrect machine recognition. Moreover, operators manipulate their machines to align vehicles which always take a lengthy amount of time. To enhance production efficiency and minimize operational errors, a recognition system is necessary to identify correct attachments, and aid operators in aligning the vehicle. In this article, an image recognition technology is applied due to its low cost and flexibility involving the adoption of ‘ring codes’. Matlab is used to process and analyse the image data, after which the GUI in Matlab displays the identified results of the target attachment and associated spatial information. The methods applied in the software systems are optimal. The theories and methods included in the software systems are: linear spatial filter, nonlinear spatial filter, thinning, dilation, normalization, amplification, rotation, Fourier Transform, Hough Transform, edge detection, chain code, and so on. Among them, the method of angle calculation implements parameter space reduction of the Hough Transform.
