Abstract :
A multiphase space-vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) with switching states selected based on reference order is proposed in this paper. The odd phase number with y-connected and balanced load is considered. The 5-phase, 7-phase and 9-phase switching states selection are derived based on reference order. This method ensures that the average value of produced phase voltage has the same d-q components as the reference voltage. Further, the computational complexity is greatly reduced comparing with the conventional SVPWM base on multiple d-q planes analysis. The simulations of 5-phase, 7-phase and 9-phase modulators are shown to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
