Abstract :
Linear Oscillating motor provides short-stroke reciprocate linear motion with high frequency. In order to eliminate eddy current loss, the stator of motor is generally made of silicon steel or soft-magnetic-composite (SMC) material. However, it may result in either assembling difficulties or thrust decline. In this study, a novel double-layer compound stator for linear oscillating motor is proposed. Silicon steel and SMC material are assembled together radially as the stator to achieve high thrust and assembly convenience simultaneously. Magnetic field and thrust are modeled by equivalent-magnetic-circuit (EMC) and magnetic co-energy method respectively and validated by FEM results. Based on the model, thickness of SMC are analyzed for optimization. According to comparisons with conventional silicon steel and SMC stator motor, this novel structure are proved to be effective in achieving both high thrust and easy assembly.
