Abstract :
This paper proposes a new Frame Slotted Aloha protocol for RFID Systems. The proposed algorithm utilizes a method to adjust the initial frame size to a value close to the number of tags, then starts the procedure to identify the tags. When a collision occurs, the algorithm resolve it immediately. Simulation results indicate that in relation to the EpcGlobal Class 1 Gen 2 - C1G2 standard, the proposed algorithm can reduce the energy consumption and identification time in 24% and the total number of slots in 17%. Moreover we show that the algorithm is simple enough to be easily implemented.
