Abstract
This paper reports the design and implementation of a mobile microgrid system that integrates multiple portable gensets and renewable power sources e.g. photovoltaic panels, in a modular `plug and play´ scheme that achieves high power capacity and flexible operating conditions. Battery storage is included to provide silent mode operation, to support transient loads and to absorb excess capacity. Both AC and DC loads are supported and the management system optimizes genset deployment to maximize fuel efficiency and dynamically manages critical and non-critical loads according to changing operating conditions.
