Abstract :
A widely tunable optoelectronic oscillator based on balanced detection is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. A frequency tunable range from 4 GHz to 16 GHz is achieved. The phase noise of the generated signal is reduced to about -105 dBc/Hz.
