  • Abstract
    PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) in one of the most effective approaches to deal complex optimizations, and in this paper, a new PSO algorithm is addressed by introducing a modified topology structure. First, the rule of making the PSO particles exploration in a valid search region is proposed. Then, a new modified chain topology based PSO algorithm is introduced, called PSOC (Modified Chain Structure based Particle Swarm Optimization). In PSOC, particle is only impacted by its adjacent particles and the neighborhood optimum is not shared in the whole population. Data experiments and the comparisons with other popular improved PSO algorithms on benchmarks are processed. The experimental results show that PSOC has both of better global searching ability and steady optimization capability.
